  NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING  AND REQUEST FOR COMMENTS
  ADEM ADMINISTRATIVE CODE  CHAPTER 335-6-7
Notice is hereby given that a hearing before the Department of Environmental Management of the State of Alabama will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the Main Hearing Room of the ADEM Central Office location at 1400 Coliseum Boulevard, Montgomery, for the purpose of accepting public comment regarding ADEM Admin. Code Ch. 335-6-7 [National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Best Management Practices, Registration Requirements, Technical Standards And Guidelines, Construction And Operation Requirements, Waste/Wastewater And Waste Product Treatment, Storage, Handling, Transport, And Disposal/Land Application, Nutrient Management, And Animal Mortality Management Requirements For Owners And Operators Of Animal Feeding Operations (AFOs) And Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs)].
ADEM Admin. Code r. 335-6-7-.03(5) [Chapter Modification And Public Participation] provides for a public notice, 30-day comment period, and public hearing every 5-years to solicit public participation and comment regarding the content, implementation, and compliance with the provisions of ADEM Admin. Code Ch. 335-6-7. Within 120-days after completion of the public participation process, the Department’s summary response to any comments, copies of comments received, and a determination of the need, if any, to modify the rules to ensure continued consistency with the requirements of the Alabama Water Pollution Control Act will be available to the public via a subsequent public notice.
Copies of the current rules are available at a cost of 30 cents per page at each of the locations listed below. A copy is also available on the Internet at http://www.adem.alabama.gov/programs/water/cafo.cnt.

The public comment period and hearing are being held to receive data, views, and comments from interested persons regarding the current rules. Attendance at the public hearing is not necessary in order to have comments included in the official administrative record. Anyone wishing to submit comments may do so at the hearing or through the mail. In order to be considered, comments must be received by the Hearing Officer before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020.
